Re-SET

The heart of the Gospel is healing and reconciliation. On the night Jesus was to be taken before the Sanhedrin, He instructed His disciples, "A new command I give to you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another." (John 13:34). Jesus could not have spelled it out any clearer than this. Followers of Christ will be known by their love. Recent events have shown a spotlight upon our country. A country founded on Christian values and ideals; the history of our love has been found lacking regarding one community in particular.

Say what you will about systemic or non-systemic racism; the fact remains that there are wounds that go soul-deep in communities of color that only Jesus can heal. Conversations can be held and debated, but it is time for Christ's disciples to rise up and again show His love to the world. Every person of color I have spoken to has one story or another about these hurts and offenses. It has created an "us against them" mentality that grieves the heart of our Heavenly Father.

Look into the Church in Galatians, the end of chapter three states: "So in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:26-29). For context here, the early Church in Galatia was in a hot debate on whether new believers, known as gentiles, were to be circumcised to be brought into a relationship with God. The topic and reaction of the Church was of cultural distinction and doing so by ritual action. One of the ways the children of Abraham distinguished themselves as a people was physical circumcision. A physical difference. Sound familiar? Paul admonishes that as those redeemed not by ritual purity and piety but by the Grace of King Jesus, we are already adopted into Abraham's family. These verses in Galatians form a thesis on which Paul bases his theology regarding those of different cultures, socio-economic standards, and he even addresses gender roles.

The cases of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery opened the eyes of many in the Church to the fact that the work of civil rights and equality is not finished. As Christ-followers, we must seek restoration, reconciliation, and blessing with our brothers and sisters of color. We must ReSET the narrative and show the world what it means to Love.

Our Re-Set Event is a guaranteed approach to resolving wounds suffered by Black and African Americans. This event which will specifically offer ministry in the areas of Fearless, Fathered and Blessing Blocker is designed to help move those who do not want to wait any longer but who want to start implementing Godly solutions that will lead to the transformation of our culture.
